Get hands-on practice gathering and tracking alternative metrics (altmetrics) for scholarly outputs.
In this session, you will get hands-on practice on tools and platforms to gather and track alternative metrics (altmetrics) for scholarly outputs. We will discuss the opportunities and limitations of altmetrics indicators for assessing research impact and examples of how to include these metrics in your P&T documentation.
Learning objectives:
- Identify the different types of altmetric indicators for scholarly impact
- Identify data sources and aggregators available to find altmetrics
- Gather and keep track of altmetrics for scholarly outputs
