5-Day research impact challenge: Research Impact Tools & Metrics. Online asynchronous workshop (For IU School of Medicine) Online

Where can I find the impact metrics of a journal? How many times has my article been cited?

This asynchronous workshop (daily messages sent automatically via email) covers citation metrics tools and indicators to answer these questions. You will get hands-on practice on tools and platforms to discover citation data and scholarly metrics to write a compelling scholarly impact narrative.

For this 5-day challenge, instructions and tasks to complete during the week will be provided daily through email, to allow you to work at your own pace.

The challenge starts on Monday, November 11

You only need to register once for the workshop.

Learning objectives:      

  • Locate library resources and free tools for gathering metrics of scholarly outputs of published research.

  • Find impact metrics for journals.

  • Gather and track citation-based data on your own work.

  • Gather and track altmetrics of your research outputs.

  • Contextualize quantitative metrics of your research impact

  • Practice writing a narrative for your promotion and tenure dossier
